ANZAC Hostel
ANZAC Hostel is a large, two-storey rendered brick Italianate mansion set in wide, established gardens in Brighton, Victoria. Listed on the Victorian Heritage Register, the building is architecturally, historically and socially significant to Victoria.
As part of Star of the Sea College’s transformation into a progressive learning community, ANZAC Hostel was to be re-adapted into the College’s future campus infrastructure.
Miglic MacLeod, having worked previously with Star of the Sea providing comprehensive heritage management services, worked with the College to extend these services to the reinvigoration of ANZAC Hostel.
The services included:
- Heritage assessment
- Demolition and alteration
- Structural engineering services
- Civil engineering services.
Due to the relationship we built with the College, and the trust placed in us due to our experience in large, complex heritage buildings, Miglic MacLeod were able to provide master planning services for this project.
Our sympathetic design solutions for the redevelopment of ANZAC Hostel incorporated it in to Star of the Sea’s vision for a progressive learning community.
