Sacred Heart College – Geelong
Sacred Heart College is one of the largest Roman Catholic secondary schools for girls in Victoria and is located in Newtown, Geelong.
Miglic MacLeod was engaged by McGlashan Everist to work on the master planning for the school. In 2016 we provided the structural and civil engineering works for each stage of the master plan for the new school.
The project included:
- Demolition of the existing Carroll Wing, Arts Complex, Briggs Wing and Dance Studio
- New two-storey buildings connecting the Performing Arts Centre and surrounding landscape to the Learning Centre
- Design of associated stormwater drainage, external pavements and retaining walls in the new extended landscape
- As part of their 2024 master plan, the school was investing in a point of difference that would distinguish them from other schools. Miglic MacLeod noted the unique requirements of the client as a prestigious college. We understood that the final product must be highly conducive to learning and community life.
Our goal was to provide Sacred Heart College with a cutting-edge design that would remain contemporary and a point of pride for many years to come. With engagement and responsiveness we achieved our vision with a design project that was innovative, bright and highly functional.
