The St Joseph College Performing Arts Building Extension was an exciting project for Miglic Macleod. This project enhances the existing facilities with state-of-the-art amenities. The extension included the expansion of the cantilevered steel-framed structure, supported by new cast in-situ concrete tapered supports and footings. This robust framework ensures the building’s stability and longevity, while the associated miscellaneous framing and infill work seamlessly integrate the new extension with the existing structure.
In addition to the structural enhancements, the project also focused on improving the surrounding environment. The civil works involved restoring the external pavements and upgrading the site surface drainage to efficiently manage downpipe discharge. Furthermore, the stormwater drainage infrastructure is connected to the existing internal drainage network, ensuring effective water management for the extended building. These improvements not only enhance the functionality of the Performing Arts Building but also contribute to a more sustainable and resilient campus.
