Werribee Treatment Plant

The historic Western Treatment Plant in Werribee is a world leader in environmentally friendly sewage treatment, and one of Victoria’s most unlikely hidden treasures.

Roughly the size of Phillip Island, the vast site is home to more than just sewage treatment facilities – it doubles as a working farm and an internationally recognised bird habitat. Here, agriculture and biodiversity meet resource recovery, education and ecotourism, supporting Melbourne’s renowned liveability.

Miglic MacLeod has been engaged and working collaboratively with John Holland for structural design engineering services for the Werribee Treatment Plant. The assets requiring structural design and documentation are as follows:

  • 160S NRP WAS Pump Station
  • Service Water Pump Station
  • Primary Effluent Main Discharge Structure
  • Primary Effluent Main flow splitter
  • Blower room
  • Electrical Switch room – cable entry pit
