Auckland City Rail Link

The City Rail Link project, funded by Auckland Council and the New Zealand Government, is New Zealand’s largest transport infrastructure project. It is intended to meet the growing needs of the city by improving travel experience and capacity.

The project involves construction of two new double-track rail tunnels running from underneath the Auckland City Centre all the way through to the city’s inner-south regional rail network at Mount Eden.

With escalating costs and an increased scope, the project was returned to tender and world-class bids were submitted by two high calibre joint ventures.

Miglic MacLeod was involved in assisting Downer New Zealand with their portion of the winning tender. We provided development and estimating services including:

• Cost estimating
• Quantity surveying
• Plant and asset maintenance costing
• Lifecycle costing.

Our experience in working with complex and extensive bids, and our depth of understanding in infrastructure cost modelling, provided a successful world-class bid.
