Star of the Sea College

Star of the Sea College's community was looking to transform the existing campus into a progressive village-style learning community with a focus on global citizenship. The campus has significant heritage value, and the master planning brief required particular considerations to be given to structural feasibility as well as preserving heritage.

The five key areas proposed for redevelopment were:

  • The portico
  • STEAM Centre
  • Sebastian Hall
  • Martin Street entrance
  • Campus parking.

Architects McGlashan Everist provided conceptual plans for each building in alignment with the school's vision and the required technical assessments of their proposals.

Miglic MacLeod conducted site surveys and provided structural and civil recommendations for five key master plan project proposals which required structural and civil drainage consideration. We also gave special consideration to protecting and enhancing the heritage value of the relevant buildings through the future planning process.

Our engineers conducted comprehensive assessments including geo-technic, building description and type, current condition, and suitability for adaptive reuse. On providing the findings to McGlashan Everist we made comprehensive and valuable recommendations, especially on the locations where future developments were planned.
