Transdev Greater Sydney Bus Contracts

Transdev Australasia is a leading public transport company providing efficient, easy to use and environmentally friendly mobility solutions across locations in Australia and New Zealand. They have an established multimodal footprint in the Sydney metropolitan area, providing bus services since 1998 as well as operating Sydney’s iconic ferries and light-rail services.

Following the 2004 Unsworth Review of Bus services in the Greater Sydney Metropolitan area, the NSW Government divided the area into the Greater Sydney Bus Contracts (GSBC). Miglic MacLeod has supported Transdev Australasia to respond to the GSBC opportunities through a number of projects.

We conducted preliminary civil assessments and developed designs and costings for Transdev’s proposed bus depot locations for the GSBC Tranche 1 and Tranche 2 proposals. This included:

• Assessing existing and potential depots for feasibility
• Developing functional layouts with staged development and accommodation of ZEBs
• Estimating costs to support Transdev’s proposed solutions.

Miglic MacLeod has also provided support to the Transdev John Holland Buses (TJHB) joint venture. This includes our most recent project, following award of the GSBC Region 9 to TJHB. Our consultants conducted asset condition assessments and evaluations to provide comprehensive reports for each depot, including:

• Asset condition and risk ratings
• Assessment of potential improvements on space utilisation
• Feasibility assessment for the installation of rooftop solar panels
• Estimated budget for improvement of high-risk assets
• Preliminary costings for rooftop solar installation and management of asbestos.
